Triple C Brewing Company

A Decade of Beer

A decade of designs starting in 2012 with the first can design ideas. After a few iterations, a refresh in 2015 after winning a Great American Beer Festival medal for the 3C West Coast IPA. Finally in 2020, the most current label on shelves around the Carolinas.

From Concept to Print - 2012

The original design of the 3C IPA was based off of the 3 main hops that were involved in brewing the west coast style IPA. Citra, Centennial, and Chinook hops were used and played nicely into the three C’s of the brewery’s namesake.

Revision - 2015

The next revision came with a full can print directly onto metal. Moving to focus on mass distribution to push out to all of North Carolina instead of just the greater Charlotte Market. Implementing the following design standards was key in streamlining market and distribution effectiveness.

1) Header, footer, color scheme, and hops carried over from the first design but made to pop on a full print metal can.
2) GS1 UPC positioned above the case tray line to make it easy to check into box stores.
3) Triple C Logo and “3C” Above shelf line for easy identification and brand recognition for consumers.
4) Repeating "slogan” above the seam crease to carry through all canned beers.
5) Swirl around Triple C Logo to mimic the three c’s
6) Easily read beer details on the right panel such as ABV, IBU, and beer style.

Current 2020 3C West Coast IPA

The current revision of the 3C IPA introduced the addition of “west coast” to the label as well as a sleek and modern gradient. I wanted to push the boundaries of brand recognition and drop the written “triple c brewing co.” from the front of the label leaving simply the three c’s for the consumer to recognize when the can sits on the shelf and sitting directly underneath would be the beer name. My end goal was for the consumer to associate the bold new color of the can to Triple C Brewing and finally to the style of the beer.
